Thursday Thrival - Moving Forward

Lisa Murray - Thursday, February 09, 2012

Most days all thrival takes is to keep moving forward. Not two steps forward, one step back. Not looking back.  Just moving forward.  What is that like for you?

For me it is sensing the next possibility for joy... for bliss... for ease... or flow.  Choosing the next action that creates and generates something new and delicious that contributes greater possibilities to my life. Simple!  And what else is possible?

Monday Muse - Ocean Inspired Peace

Lisa Murray - Monday, February 06, 2012

This morning I went for a swim in the sparkly turquoise ocean at Noosa… the beach was quiet and once out beyond the first set of crashing shore breaks the peace and stillness was stunning!  I had no head chatter; I was immersed in the subtle sounds of the ocean being the ocean… and it was bliss!

And it got me pondering how rarely I have this stillness inside my mind, and how often we think that we are everything we are thinking!!  Besides being in nature, those times of stillness and internal peace mostly come from two places for me… getting my Bars run (oh beautiful thing!!) and returning to sender all of the thoughts, feelings and emotions that are not mine (that would be 99.99999999% of the head chatter – gone - instantly!)

We have been trained to identify with all of these thoughts, feelings and emotions as if they are us… but what if they are simply clouds floating by that are nothing to do with who we truly be?

What if we could allow them to float on through our minds without attaching any conclusions, any significance or any trauma and drama to any of it?  Would there be more peace, more stillness and more space to become aware of the bliss that is available to us in the moment?

So this week I’m returning to sender every thought, feeling or emotion that I am aware of that is not mine… what if we could have way more space in our minds?  Would this create the peace and awareness of possibilities we are so often looking for?

(In case you are wondering...'Return to Sender' is one of the many practical tools I use from Access Consciousness to create ease and joy in my daily living.)

Wednesday Wisdom - The Bliss Beyond Judgment

Lisa Murray - Wednesday, February 01, 2012

‘What if everything you have been judging about you is everything that is wonderful about you?’  Dr Dain Heer

I have just been to 9 days of the Access Consciousness Beyonds classes.  On day 4, Gary Douglas asked us ‘what is different for you so far?’  What I saw for myself was that for the first time ever, there was no wrongness in my universe… I was at total peace with everything… there were things I could choose to change… or I could just be at peace with them.  There was no judgment of me in my universe!

Just a sense of gratitude and space for all that I was able to be right now… whilst still knowing how much more could be possible if I am willing to choose it.  WOW – what a phenomenal space to be in!

There were so many spaces where I saw that I had made myself wrong when actually those were the very things that make me the delicious decadent ME that I be!  Once I gave up the judgment and wrongness, all that was left was joy, bliss and a sense of possibility that continues to expand!  How does it get better than that???

Would you be willing to give up all judgment of you?  Forever?  What if nothing is ever truly wrong… or right?  What if you could be in allowance of all of it?  How much freedom could you have?  Bliss is just a choice :)

I adore you all... would you be willing to be kind to you?

x Lisa

Wednesday Wisdom - The Uncomfortable Edge of the Unknown

Lisa Murray - Wednesday, December 21, 2011

I have come back from 9 days of Access Consciousness classes (and no... in case you were wondering, there was no naked bike-riding - that's a different sort of uncomfortable!)  It seems like I have a totally new reality!  Each time I go to class I get sooooo excited as I see the many possibilities that were never available to me previously - mostly because I was stuck in some gluggy quagmire of limited points of view that were almost never even mine to start with!!

If I always choose more, no matter what I have already achieved, my life becomes immeasurably expansive – there is just so much more space and so much more awareness available as I allow the flood-gates of being unlimited to open even further… yes Bliss peeps, there it is… that scary word:  unlimited.

One of the energies being more unlimited has led me to explore is that of being uncomfortable.  As I demand more and greater possibilities, far beyond what I have ever chosen before, I am often sitting in the unknown and unexplored…

This sometimes brings a sense of being uncomfortable, mostly because I am no longer operating from the assumptions, habits and reference points I used to consider were me!   I am functioning from a space outside of the known ‘me’!!

If you think about what that could be like for a moment, you’ll know why I appear a little dazed and confused some days!  It’s a case of: “Who am I? What grand and glorious adventures can I have and receive today…?” rather than ‘this is who I am and this is what I must do to fit into the box everyone expects me to sit in for the next 500 million years…’  hmmmm… no thanks!!

That box is a comfort zone that only ever leads to a slow and infinitely boring death, one stuck, struggle-filled moment at a time!  So, maybe this living on the creative edge idea has something going for it!!  Even if it is uncomfortable...

Have you ever considered what it would be like to simply be present with being uncomfortable? I know this sounds quite weird - it is a new discovery for me too…  but one that has allowed me to see, for the first time ever, that uncomfortable does not have to equate to bad or something being wrong… intensity does not have to equate to overwhelm…  there is actually a lightness and spaciousness as I be totally present with the energy that is there.

Simply sitting with those energies and being present with them takes my awareness to a whole new space where being uncomfortable can actually show up as a knowing and receiving of what else could be possible!

So I invite you to join me in an exploration of uncomfortable… there is so much change showing up in our world… maybe it’s time to invite that change to create and generate something phenomenal rather than something that diminishes who we truly be??

Play with it... and see if you can discover for yourself how magical it is -  when we are willing to be uncomfortable, an ease shows up that we were previously rejecting! Strange but true!!  I have been a little surprised to see all of the ease and joy I have been rejecting because I wasn't willing to have uncomfortable - oops!! Sometimes I'm cute but not so bright!

So here’s a question you could ask next time you are feeling a little on the ‘un’ side of comfortable:  “What possibility am I aware of that I am not choosing?”  When you sense what else is possible, you just might be willing to embrace uncomfortable…

I adore you all...have fun playing with this one!  Did you notice that the naked bike riders were smiling?  Maybe uncomfortable isn't what we think!!

And do let me know what you discover as you play... I'm curious!

Tuesday Treat - Today You Will Shine

Lisa Murray - Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Yesterday's post delved into the space of choosing more ease, instead of complications, confusion and complexity.  Have you noticed how these energies never allow us to shine our full light on the world?  When we choose dis-ease of any type, it is like choosing to end up homeless and living under a bridge!

We become invisible. No-one can see us, no-one wants to see us, and the bright shining sparks of magic we could bring to the world in each moment die a slow, lingering painful death, without ever creating the possibilities that would allow our being to experience the true bliss of living.

Oops!!  Is that really what we wish to choose?  What value do we create when we choose not to shine?  What values do we hold on to that are more important than the expression of our true self?  Is it time to let the real you out from under the bridge? What is the worst thing that could happen?  You find a bigger bridge with more shelter and a couple of comfy mattresses?   You give up bridges and start looking at penthouses instead?

What would it take for you to shine your gorgeous, precious light out into the world today?  Thre are so many ways...

  • what ease could you create for others, just by choosing ease?
  • what joy could you express that would also bring joy to others?
  • what bliss would you be willing to experience, that could expand the possibilities in the world... just by you BEing bliss?
  • what laughter can you create today, that will disarm the epidemic of complexity?
  • and what if all of this could show up with ease, just because you are BEing more of YOU??

Go play - and know that when you choose to shine... you change everything!  You are a gift to the world - treat yourself like that!

xox Lisa

P.S. And if you want to expand your capacity to be bold, shine and express more of your luminous presence... join us for New Energies of Business on 30 November in Brisbane... it's going to be a shiny, happy gathering of creating bold and beautiful possibilities :)

My Magic Words - 'With Ease'

Lisa Murray - Monday, November 21, 2011

Over the last few days I’ve had some really interesting experiences of how people perceive the energy of ease.  It seems a lot of people just aren’t willing to choose it!  Every time I see this it spins my head, turns my brain into fairy floss and creates a density in my body that allows me to know it is a lie for me.

Last week I was talking to someone about a personal situation that has been rather interesting this year and I was quite excited to note that in two weeks I will have removed it from my life totally and that will allow all of the little bits of stuck energy still hanging about to be cleared with ease.

This person proceeded to impel me with a whole lot of points of view about how I should delve deep into it so I could clear it.  They refused to hear that I could clear it with ease and that once it was done, I would be totally free of that situation… they refused to hear anything except their own limited (from my perspective!) point of view about how I should fix this, not to mention the big blast of judgments they shot at me.  They literally could not hear that ease is possible for me in this situation.

I almost bought it but the density of the conversation showed me that while this may be true for this person, it is not a choice I would make for myself.  What if immersing ourselves in heavy energy does nothing but intensify it? That’s how it felt to me in the moment… and once I removed myself from that person’s space and points of view, I quickly regained the lightness and joy that I started the conversation with.

WOW!!   What else is possible here?  It was a gift to see how different I have become – by choosing awareness and consciousness rather than all the density of ‘feeling the feelings’ that many spiritual people like to immerse themselves in.

What if we didn’t have to feel the intensity of things to clear them?  What if change could be feather light and come through like a cool spring breeze, bringing new possibilities and choices in an instant??

Which brings me to the next fascinating situation… I wrote some copy for a client and included the words ‘with ease’ in a headline.  They asked me to remove it because no-one in their industry believes leadership can be done with ease!  When I look at the energy of that, there is a lot of fixed points of view and value vested in the idea of it being complex and complicated – and this is exactly what creates the exclusion and the limitations that stops the ease from showing up!

Kinda funny really… what if we give up ‘struggling against’ and creating by force?  What if we could just ‘choose ease’? Could that create a different reality?

So how often do we give up our awareness and our capacity for letting go in an instant to make other people feel comfortable?  What can I say… it’s boring for me to hold onto stuff and wallow through it, hoping that if I stay there long enough I might come out the other side… in my universe it is way easier and way more joyful just to choose a new reality and create new possibilities!  Who said we have to suffer??

And what if we could change the ‘tough’ bits in an instant? The situation may still be there, but your response to it could be completely different… With the insight and love of my totally awesome friends, I have chosen to create ease in this personal situation about a thousand times this year…

So it wasn’t always easy – but in each situation I have been able to create greater ease than I would have if I wallowed in the distress of the situation for the entire time and made it all really significant and meaningful.  Sometimes you just gotta go – "that person is mean, nasty and insane, and nothing I do or be will change that – it’s simply their choice.  Cool… and what else is possible??"

Can you imagine how excited I be that finally the situation will be resolved??? Woohoo!!  Look out world!!!   Would you be willing to have that much ease even under the most challenging of circumstances?  It’s just a choice… (and a little know-how!)

Yeah – I choose for my world to overflow with ease!  I reclaim my space of joy and ease... and I be the awesomeness of me...

And if you choose to - enjoy the 'with ease' conversation on Facebook too -  lots of great perspectives!

New Energies of Business - Presence

Lisa Murray - Sunday, October 16, 2011

I love observing the subtleties of my life, where themes bubble and pop up from out of nowhere, merging into a stream of consciousness that deliver the often not so subtle 'aha' moment I have been looking for.  Over the past few weeks the theme of 'presence' has been emerging - presence with myself, being present with others, and having lots of that indefinable quality called presence.

This started with a few snippets of insight where we discovered that having presence is core to successfully engaging with the New Energies of BusinessTM.  Once we introduced this topic for our upcoming events on Nov 10th and Feb 6th, experiences relating to developing presence have been everywhere!  Yep, when we ask the universe truly does deliver!

A couple of weeks ago, to my great surprise,  I sang solo in public for the first time ever.  I was just following the energy of joy by going to a Right Voice For You class with my friend Delany.  I figured I would get some speaking practice in!! Well, she cooked me good and proper - within minutes of arriving she had me singing (not one of my stronger talents and abilities... no public encores planned anytime soon ;)

On my second round of singing (which was a lot better than the first!) my audience were very encouraging.  On the inside I was quite disillusioned though... and I shared this, saying 'but I had no presence'.  Well!! Apparently that was not true from the audience's perspective... so I got to see a whole new side to presence... I had misidentified and misapplied it as some sort of loud high vibey energy, instead of the quiet potency it can truly be!

Adding this insight to the wonderful things I learned about stillness and presenting at Simone de Haas' recent Act of Speaking workshop has created a whole new space for me to explore the wonders of presence in... a very magical experience all round!

Just yesterday I did a presentation for a wonderful group of women from the Australian Association of Professional Organisers... over lunch I was expressing how much joy I receive from being very present with my audience and talking to their needs and desires from just a few dot points which seem to have their own way of creating a presentation that is relevant and engaging, rather than trotting out the same old speech every time as many speakers do.  I am so grateful to one of the ladies who pointed out that presenting is all about being present, but delivering a speech is just that - and never do the two truly ever meet.

This idea is so simple, and yet quite profound - and it made me wonder how often are we truly present with the people around us?  I know that I have a lot more presence for people when I am talking to them with my full self present (rather than being scattered all over the universe!!) and with all of my energies of joy, gratitude and contribution present... I am learning never to underestimate the power and potency of the smallest of changes... so what else is possible??

We are going to explore the topics of presence and visibility in depth at the next New Energies of Business events... if you would like to experience the astonishing difference this can bring to your business and your living, then we would love to have you come play with us!!  Bookings Essential!!

Friday Frolic - Talking Hats and...

Lisa Murray - Friday, October 07, 2011

Artist Kate Hartman takes us on a tour of communication that makes the world look just a little different to the everyday... Her TED talk is quirky, creative and offers an intriguing underlying message about how we can all connect with each other and the things around us in unexpected ways...

Some of us already recognise that everything has energy... Kate takes us to a place where we can visually tap into that energy and see different possibilities for communication.  I found the part about glaciers especially insightful... how do we connect and communicate with people who have a glacial exterior?   Enjoy!

Wednesday Wisdom - Getting Real

Lisa Murray - Wednesday, October 05, 2011

“I’d like what she’s having” is a common response when we see something we desire to have for ourselves reflected in another.  What happens next is interesting… some of us go on to ask “What choice am I not making here that would give me everything I desire?” and then joyfully make the choice to change or create whatever is required.

Many more of us expect the person with the ‘thing’ we desire to deliver it to us in 10 seconds or less on a silver platter without changing anything inside of us, and preferably without charging us anything either!  I’ve started to see this as a fantasy… or maybe an insanity!!  The sparrow does not expect to wake up tomorrow as a peacock!

We don’t stop to look at what it took for this person to be or have this energy we so desire… we don’t stop to consider that their ‘overnight success’ may have taken lifetimes to create… we don’t stop to consider that we might just have to get real with ourselves and really look at what we are being or contributing (or not!) which would allow this magic to show up for us in our individual way!

Personally I find the bliss is in the journey… it’s in the moments of discovery where you see something you’ve never seen before… it’s in the sweet spots where you get to rest and relax into the vista before climbing the next hill… it’s in the moments of satisfaction where you know you just wouldn’t be here if you didn’t make those choices that made little sense at the time but felt ‘oh so right’… it’s in the sense of self you cultivate that nothing and no-one can ever take from you… this gentle unfurling of our peacock feathers offers us an irreplaceable wisdom.

When we give ourselves recognition for our journey we unleash an inner joy in ‘doing what it takes’ that no silver platter could ever deliver.

Giving up the fantasies and insanities and instead choosing to ‘do what it takes’ mostly means we need to BE it first.  We need to get real with ourselves and BE the essence of what we desire.  Funny how easily it shows up when we BE!

What can we choose to BE that would deliver all of this (and then some!!) with ease, joy and abundance?

Wednesday Wisdom - Falling In Love With YOU

Lisa Murray - Wednesday, September 28, 2011

Yesterday I was talking with a beautiful friend and she was sharing with me how she has been learning to fall in love with herself and how deeply magical and transforming that process has been for her.

Mostly we yearn for intimacy on the outside of us, never dreaming that what we most desire is truly available within... I continue to learn that everything I desire is actually available inside of me... if I am willing to BE it, own it and choose it!

I hope you discover some deliciously joyful insights in this video that allow you to have the intimacy and connection you most truly desire...

Sending you blissbombs of gratitude for all you BE
