Sunday Serenity - Love In The Moment

Lisa Murray - Sunday, May 29, 2011

I woke up this morning with a head full of stuff... so many little things need attention over the next week and I was having a 'where to start' moment!  Because, actually, I didn't feel like working, I felt like messing about in the kitchen... an earlier trip to the Noosa Farmers Markets had put me in the inspiration zone!

One of the fastest ways to find your serenity (besides breathing deeply) is to do something you love.  So, I made some marinated feta... beautiful creamy danish feta, rich fruity virgin olive oil, and some fresh herbs from the garden... 10 minutes of creating bliss for my tastebuds!

Now I can imagine at least 10 luscious things I can do with this feta... and those creative thoughts are going to keep me happy and serene for quite a while (yes, I'm a food lush - just thinking about the possibilities makes me drool deliriously!!)

And now I'm ready to look at what really does require attention today if I want to have a free-flowing productive week!  So if you are looking for a little more serenity in your day... do the thing that will make you drool love and feel nurtured first... and once you feel more than a little bit happy, go and do the thing that really needs your love in this moment... pure bliss - I promise!!

Tuesday Treat – Capturing Your Ideas

Lisa Murray - Wednesday, May 18, 2011

How many good ideas have you had and promptly forgotten?  Thousands?  Millions?  Zillions??? Taking just a few moments to capture your ideas effectively can bring lots of flow into your living and lots of money into your bank account!!  Would you be willing to have a lot more of that?

I love ideas and over the years have tried out just about every way of capturing them known to woman.  I used to keep an ideas notebook (about 20 of them actually) but now have gone all modern and use my iPhone notes (Evernote app) or voice memos if driving. There are many great apps for idea capture, find the ones that work for you!

And then I add those notes to my project lists on the computer - so no more searching for that idea I had a few weeks ago – I know where you are hiding!!

Of course a notebook and pen beside the bed is still great for capturing those between sleep and awake moments, sleeping with your phone can be just a little too hard on the body from a radiation perspective!

If you are like me, the brain takes just a little longer to engage, so the shower gets the best of my awareness.  Apple haven’t yet made a waterproof iPhone :-( Here are a few great ideas I have seen people use to capture ideas in the shower:
  • Use a dive slate (from diving shops)
  • Write on the glass with a dry erase marker (make sure you write on the dry bits)
  • Set the idea to song so you can remember it when you get out.
  • Get a waterproof case for your voice recorder (test your volume) – some people suggest a ziplock bag – be super careful with this one!
  • There are products you can write on in the wet:  Rite In The Rain and Aqua Notes are two possibilities.
  • In a moment of desperation you could write on your bathroom mirror with eyeliner.
  • Kids have it all over us… try out a magna doodle board or waterproof crayons on your shower wall (only if you like cleaning!)
How do you capture your ideas?  Please share what works for you in the comments… what bliss could we create if we captured even 10% more of the ideas that stare us in the face every day???

Love your ideas!

Sunday Serenity - Bend Instead of Break

What are your fave songs for riding the flow?

Friday Frolic - Unblock Me Secrets

Lisa Murray - Friday, May 06, 2011

So this week I discovered that an addiction to the Words With Friends iPhone app isn't quite enough for me... now there is Unblock Me Oh my darling heart!

This simple game is all about moving the red block through the gap on the right by rearranging the blocks.  I started playing as a way of unblocking my creativity when writing... the simple actions of moving the blocks about creates some sort of natural flow.  How does it get even better than that?

What was interesting to discover as I got progressively more and more addicted to playing, is how Unblock Me is like a metaphor for everything that is blocked in our life!  Here's what I see:

  • Sometimes you have to move the red block 'backwards' to make progress.
  • Whatever linear answer you come up with will probably not work. Go for the next easiest move instead.
  • When you least expect it, the solution appears.
  • When you hit a really annoying traffic jam, its easier to start the game again, taking a different route.
  • When you come to a conclusion about what the solution looks like you go round in circles and get nowhere.
  • It doesn't really matter how many steps you take, as long as you're enjoying the game ;-)
  • No matter what the journey looks like, the last few moves are always fast and easy and you wonder why you didn't see the solution sooner!
  • When you focus on moving the red block through the hole rather than what's in the way, it's a fast game!
  • Some of the hardest looking puzzles can be solved the quickest if we don't take the point of view they are hard. None of it is ever as hard as we think.(Time to stop thinking? lol)
  • Mostly we don't have to move nearly as many blocks as we think ;-)
  • If we really get stuck, leave that game and go play another, when we come back the solution will be effortless!
  • When you go with the flow and play intuitively, solutions appear out of nowhere (love that!!).
I have been talking to lots of people feeling blocked in different ways lately, maybe its time for a whole lot more play in your life??

Somehow play makes our world look completely different. Maybe because when we play, we give up all the fantasies of what things 'should' be... and just allow them to BE? (And when we BE, we can see what else is possible!!)

It's Friday... go play some games and unblock yourself so you can have a gorgeously blissful weekend!

Wednesday Wisdom – Bounce Back Ability

Lisa Murray - Wednesday, May 04, 2011

I love bamboo - it reminds me of all that is good about resilience!
No matter how hard those bamboo stalks are bent, they can still spring back into shape!  Resilience is a journey we all go on after times of challenge.  The events of the last 10 months have left my body at less than optimum capacity and whilst I am aware of this and I manage my energy daily, occasionally I still have a hiccup!

Yesterday I spent a full day at speaker training and came home totally exhausted, not because I was doing anything much (listening mostly) but because I pushed my body beyond its current capabilities… a long day surrounded by lots of people in a cold room is clearly more than my body can cope with at the moment!  (And this is no reflection on the event or the wonderful people I was with, simply where my body was at on that day!)

So I came home, ate a warm dinner cooked by someone else (how did I get so lucky??), watched Masterchef, had a delicious long hot shower and went to bed where I promptly slept for 11 hours playing regenerative energy based meditations while I slept.  And I’ve woken up feeling 1000% better, but knowing I need to take it easy today.

There was a time in my life when, had I woken up feeling good, I would have jumped right back in, leaving little time for my body to build further resilience. Not anymore :-)  I value my health too highly and it is my current priority to build up reserves of physical and emotional resilience so that little can weigh me down!

This bounce back ability is within all of us, but sometimes we forget to tap into our inner knowing.  I have experimented with several hundred different tools for bouncing back over the past three years.

There is probably at least 100 things that I know can make me feel better quickly and whenever I am not feeling at my best, I am quick to put the tools that feel rewarding in that moment into action. I don’t have a ‘formula’ for bouncing back, but I do have a set of questions I ask myself:
  • What physical symptoms are showing up here?
  • Who do these symptoms belong to?  Can I return them to sender?
  • How am I feeling within myself?  Light or heavy?
  • Has anything triggered this that needs addressing?
  • What would be the fastest path to feeling more alive right now?
  • What do I need to put in place for the next couple of days to fully bounce back?
  • What else can I add to my life?
  • What can I remove from my life?
Once I’ve had a look at the energy associated with all of these questions, I choose a course of action (or sometimes inaction – rest is a wonderful thing!) and look for the possibilities for feeling regenerated.  As a result, my dips are smaller and faster than they ever used to be and I can traverse life knowing that my bounce-back ability is never far away.

How often do you make yourself the priority?  Or are you always putting your own physical and psychological needs last?  Are you willing to truly give yourself the gift of nurturing and caring that will give you this same bounce back ability?

If you would like more bounce-back ability, join us on Monday nights for nurturing Bliss Essence teleconversations!

Sunday Serenity - Peace And Then Some!

Lisa Murray - Sunday, April 24, 2011

Today I have a day at home by myself - a rare occurrence and one I'm grateful for - it is rejuvenating for me!  While I did skip off to my brother's this morning for a few hours of easter egg hunts, chocolate hot cross buns, making easter egg paper collages with my niece and nephew and joyful conversation, I'm home now and in a peaceful flow.

Playing with my Soul Coaching cards... here are the messages I received when asking for some beautiful serenity insights to share :-)

Peace...True peace is not static and boring...it's full of grace, enthusiasm and vitality! Serenity is within.  (I'm sure this one was especially for me... I will never think of peace as boring again!!)

Power...Reclaim your inner abilities and divine strength... use your wisdom and grace to bring healing to others.

Acceptance...When you are not in allowance of ALL of you, you deny who you truly be.  There are no wrong experiences.

Inspiration...Creativity and inspiration are a blessing... are we willing to receive stimulating ideas that revitalize us?

Silence...The silent still place within is our source of potency... in the silence our full awareness becomes conscious.

What choice could you make today that could contribute more serenity to your blissful living?
Happy Easter, I hope you have been able to enjoy some serenity and rejuvenation!

Friday Frolic - A Bliss Machine!

This just makes me giggle...

Make a choice!  What would bring you joy today??

Wednesday Wisdom - It's Perfect

Lisa Murray - Wednesday, April 20, 2011

I often look back at my life in awe.  All those jobs that I really didn’t enjoy provided me with the perfect mix of skills and experiences for creating the joyful businesses I now have the pleasure of playing with!

When I really delve into it, I can see exactly why every single one of those experiences happened how it did.  Through my choice, and for my ultimate benefit (even though it definitely didn’t feel like it at the time!)

And now, as I’m going through a personal situation I am finding quite challenging at times, I am discovering a peace with it. This morning for the first time I saw it was possible to have this same internal knowing that whatever it looks like on the surface, and whatever happens, ultimately it will be perfect!

And so it is with all of the ‘negative’ experiences we choose… they hold us up, spin us out, create havoc and ultimately show us different possibilities which could never arise if we didn’t start to look at what else is possible amongst the chaos we sometimes find ourselves in.

So today, I have much gratitude that everything is in perfect order… and I’m willing to choose even more ease, joy, bliss and abundance in my living than I’ve ever had before!

Please know I’m not saying that we should lie down and take everything that drops into our life without question… there’s always choice! So, on those ‘not-so-perfect’ but ultimately absolutely perfect days, here’s a question you can ask to start changing the energy into something closer to what you desire:

What energy, space and consciousness can I contribute to my living today and in the future that will generate, create, and institute more than I imagine possible?

You don’t have to answer it, just be willing to follow your own knowing about what’s required to create a blissful change, within you or externally!

What will you do today to choose bliss, despite what your external reality is displaying?

Tuesday Treat – Being The Question

Lisa Murray - Tuesday, April 19, 2011

One of my favourite tools is living in the question.  Questions empower.  Questions allow for possibilities I have never imagined to show up.  Questions open up the energy for my day to move forward with ease and joy…

Questions offer the capacity to have more awareness, more ease, more joy and more space in your life.
They are not meant to create conclusions, answers or judgments about what is right or wrong, good or bad.

The opposite of luscious, creative, spacious questions for me are judgments, conclusions, expectations and decisions… notice how much heavier and clunkier these feel?

How many possibilities for awareness or creating more than we think is possible are there in looking for a something that matches and validates our initial ‘right’ points of view?  (We are really cute, but just not so bright sometimes ;-) Is the rightness of your point of view working for you?  Or is it time to choose something different?

Instead of using affirmations (which are mostly expectations and fixed points of view!!) to allow myself to feel awesome when I wake up, I use questions!!  The questions don’t require an answer, their sole role (or could that be soul roll??) is to fill you with a sense of possibilities and joy which allows the universe to deliver you more than you could ever imagine!

Here’s a few of my favourites you could play with… ask them when you wake up and whenever you think of them throughout the day… and watch your life change!!

  • What energy, space and consciousness can my body and I be today that will allow us to be as generative, joyful, inspirational, expansive, captivating and spectacular as we truly be?
  • Who am I today and what grand and glorious adventures can I be, have and generate today?
  • Who or what can I be today that will make my life greater than it has ever been before?
  • What else can I add to my life or business that would bring me joy, ease and greater possibilities?
  • Where do I need to put my energy today that will be a contribution to my life and business?
  • What would it take for my life to feel like a celebration today?
  • What question can I ask or be here that would create a different possibility?
Notice none of these questions start with ‘How…’   the ‘how’ is not our job… it will show up when we are willingto have the awarenesses that come when we keep asking questions!

Got a favourite question for starting your day with bliss?  Share it below!
