Thursday Thrival - Sorting Out Space Invaders

Lisa Murray - Thursday, May 03, 2012

One of the things that brings me a lot of bliss is having a sense of space.  Being autistic and quite sensitive (ie acutely aware of everything!!) ‘having enough space’ is a necessity for my overall wellbeing.  I simply don’t function without it.

Without a sense of space, it feels like my whole world collapses into a tiny claustrophobic box that is about to suffocate me. I lose the sense of being me. Do you know what I’m talking about?

I am also discovering my need for space becomes greater as I become more acutely aware of the thoughts, feelings and emotions of other people. So as I expand my psychic awareness of everything in the universe, I require a lot more space!

I used to be able to create space by immersing myself in a nurturing physical space such as nature or a calm dark room with no stimulation.  These tools still work, but not nearly as well as they used to!

No More Space Invaders!

A couple of weeks ago I was at an Access Consciousness™ class in a remote part of beautiful New Zealand where there was lots of space (that's a picture of the gorgeous beach at the Carrington Resort above).  And yet I still felt like I was in that tiny box! It sent me into a mini-meltdown as I couldn't stand to be near almost anyone, despite the space and beauty around me!! Truly!! How does that work?

And just yesterday some selfish and insensitive people sat right on top of me in a café that had plenty of other seating choices - it made me more than a little cranky!  I had just been for a beautiful walk in Noosa National Park and felt as big as the universe… until they and their small minds thoughtlessly invaded my space!

Being as aware as I am, space invasion mostly feels like a daily occurrence to me. (Quietly hides under covers in dark bedroom while wanting to scream...)

So what could change this?

We identify this need for space as physical, emotional or mental and we usually go searching for solutions in those areas, often with little success.

After the mini-meltdown in New Zealand I discovered (thanks to the magical Dr Dain Heer) that if I ask ‘How much space can I occupy?’ and then ‘How much MORE space can I occupy?’ at least 10 times or so, the energy will lighten up and I will feel a lot less like my space is being invaded and a lot more like ME!

Dr Dain explained that anywhere that I feel like my space is contracted is where I have made my energy as small as the people I am around.  Oops! That would be me being cute but somewhat insane!!

Now that I am aware that my universe is a whole lot bigger than most people’s, I am much more able to be around people without feeling tiny and insignificant and squashed and suffocated!  You see, none of that contraction is actually mine… a quick return to sender is definitely in order!! And conscious awareness of bliss becomes mine once more!

What else is possible?

Thursday Thrival - The Joy in Beauty

Lisa Murray - Thursday, March 29, 2012

Have you ever wondered how to bring more joy into your living?

One thing I know about myself is how much joy I receive from being surrounded by beauty and elegance.  It offers a sense of peace and calm.. like a mesmerizing oasis in the midst  of a crazy world where so much ugliness is created when we are unaware of what else is possible.

Some days I love to create beauty, some days I simply be beauty.  What if we could all know how beautiful we truly be?

I love the unexpectedness of the beauty we find in nature...an eagle soaring overhead as I fly down the highway, the total stillness of the forest as I walk in full presence along the coastline... the happy buzziness of dragonflies and bumblebees as they create their own brand of magic in each moment.

Immersing ourselves in beauty is a treat too... have you noticed how a well-designed building can make you feel good?  How a beautiful painting expands your possibilities?  How fresh flowers can add a certain something to your office?  Or how a great massage creates a sense of space and joy in your universe?

What if you could immerse yourself in whatever is beautiful for you?  Would your world change at all?  Beauty is a contribution to us in every moment... if we will receive it!

Thursday Thrival - Moving Forward

Lisa Murray - Thursday, February 09, 2012

Most days all thrival takes is to keep moving forward. Not two steps forward, one step back. Not looking back.  Just moving forward.  What is that like for you?

For me it is sensing the next possibility for joy... for bliss... for ease... or flow.  Choosing the next action that creates and generates something new and delicious that contributes greater possibilities to my life. Simple!  And what else is possible?

Thursday Thrival - Hidden Greatness

Lisa Murray - Thursday, July 14, 2011

I have just spent four blissful days at an advanced Access Consciousness class in Brisbane where we laughed non-stop.  Change is totally joyful and blissful if we are willing for it to be lighter than a feather touch!

Just when I thought I had finished with the being/doing conundrum I have been exploring over the past few months... up popped days of playing with the energy of this!  And in the willingness to explore it further I made a beautiful discovery.

Access founder Gary Douglas says "Being is the capacity to create a totally different reality just by BEing you."  Now I know I already do this.  I know I can change what is, just by being present with people and having the willingness for change to occur... but what I didn't see (and what I am sure you never see for yourself either!) is how much potency we have in just BEing ALL that we are.

I am so deeply grateful to Gary for reflecting back to me the truth of the energy I BE... what I felt in those moments was indescribable...and it changed my entire universe in an instant.

I saw that there was nothing to judge in me, but plenty to be in allowance of.  I saw the immensity of my BEing and the infinite possibilities of allowing myself to be unlimited.  I saw that everything I require is already within me. I saw the pure joy and love that we all have wrapped up so tightly inside... and I saw the possibilities for the world if I was to be vulnerable enough to BE this beautiful energy without hiding.

I am not sure what else to say except WOW!

We are all so much greater than this reality would have us believe.  We are all so much greater than we are willing to see.  So what would it take for each of us to start shining that greatness into the world with a brightness and lightness that could transform anything, create anything and BE anything we choose? We are the gold and the change we are seeking...

If you have been wondering how to step up, know the time is now and the only thing you need to 'DO' is BE YOU!  Without limitation, without shame, without doubt.  If you are here now, you have a contribution to make.  If you are reading this know there are no mistakes... your time is now.  Would you hold my hand, take that first tiny step and invite the world to experience the brilliance of you?

xx Lisa

Thursday Thrival - BYO Sunshine!

Lisa Murray - Thursday, March 24, 2011

Today I’m setting you a small ‘feel good’ challenge!  One of the ways to bring more peace to the world is to have all people on our beautiful planet feel a strong sense of belonging.   It is much harder to start or continue wars when you feel like you are one with everyone on the planet.

Have you ever noticed how much focus there is on exclusion, on making others wrong, on creating separation instead of communion in this reality?  What if we could change that?

Today I am asking you to go through your day mindfully, being inclusive instead of exclusive.  I am asking you to hold out the hand of friendship and peace instead of making disconnection and lack of connection the most valuable product you have!

If you are feeling shy about this, think back to the last time someone went out of their way to make you feel welcome… did it make you feel grateful or did you reject their friendship?  Would you be willing to put out the welcome mat wherever you go today and add joy into the lives of people you connect with?

Here’s a few ideas to get you started…
•   Smile at a homeless person and send them love for their choice, instead of looking away and judging them!
•   Include the ‘outsider’ in your workplace in conversation instead of following the ‘in’ crowd.
•   Walk down the street happy and with a strong sense of love and peace in your heart (and watch people connect with you instinctively!!)
•   Look for what you have in common with people first, rather than judging the differences you can see on the surface.
•   If you play with social media, connect with not only the like-minded, but those who are searching for more and need to see an example of what they desire in action (yes, that’s YOU, leading the bliss!!)

We all breathe the same air… would you share your bliss with the world?  If you do this from a space of peace, light and playfulness I promise you will have an AWESOME day… How much bliss can you create by opening the doors to new possibilities for everyone you meet today?
